I was sitting at the Blumarine show in Milan when a puffy, pretty, soft pink dress floated down the runway. Soft tiers of beaded tulle with full shoulders immediately had me dreaming of fairy tale princesses. Turns out Blumarine wasn’t the only design house with Disney royalty on the brain. As fashion week wore on, the pastel, floor length gowns at Ermanno Scervino, paper doll dresses at Moschino and hot pink cellophane number at Gucci all seemed to channel classic Disney characters. In New York, Delpozo’s peplum gown could easily work into Snow White’s wardrobe. In Paris, Balmain showed a purple outfit that Rapunzel would find a way out of her castle to buy. If I owned one of these outfits, I’m pretty sure I’d live happily ever after too.
