The world of wearables just got a whole lot chicer.
Louis Vuitton has launched its first smartwatch: The Tambour Horizon.
The latest addition to the luxury powerhouse’s Tambour collection (the iconic watch that began LV’s watchmaking story in 2002), the Tambour Horizon mixes elegance with connectivity—how 2017 is that?
Conceived in Paris (the case was made at Vuitton’s manufacturer in Switzerland), with technology developed in California’s Silicon Valley (it runs on a Google Android operating system), this tricked-out timepiece can be used for the first time ever right across the globe, including China. Pause for mic drop.
Available in three different case styles, including the Maison’s iconic LV monogram print, the Tambour Horizon (42mm) can be customized with 60 interchangeable strap options (30 for women, 30 for men) and a range of downloadable digital watch faces. Other super cool features include “My Flight,” which keeps travelers informed of their flight times, terminal and gate info, reports of delays, and more.
There’s also a built-in “City Guide” function, which includes the best addresses and sights of seven of the most visited cities in the world based on Vuitton’s well-known guide books. Plus, it also has a geolocation function that indicates nearby hot spots, hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. so you can eat, sleep and sip in style wherever you choose to roam.
Jet setters will love the “GMT” watch function—you can display the name of a major world city (pick a city, any city!) on the state-of-the-art sapphire screen and the corresponding time appears in the time zone of your choice. Of course, the Tambour Horizon also boasts all the practical day-to-day tech tools too, like text messages, emails, weather report and step counter. This accessory may just be the ideal plus-one. Wheels up!
