Bad hair days happen to the best of us, and while braids, ponytails and buns are often our saviours, sometimes they just won’t cut it. So what’s the next best thing? We asked our Beauty Panel to find out.

Have a beauty question you want to see the panel answer? Send it our way at beautypanel@fashionmagazine.com. Read on for the answers to this week’s challenge and get to know all the contributors on our Beauty Panel hub page.

Bad hair days happen to the best of us so it’s always good to have fast tricks in our back pockets!

While I have my go-to tips such as braids, top buns and dry shampoos, I have one super fast and furious, easy peasy way to combat a not-so-perfect hair day. What’s my number one go to solution? A stylish hat, mes amis!

This beautiful felt floppy hat from Le Chateau, for example, is not only lovely but also warm and cozy and perfect for a chilly fall day!

To create texture and composition, slightly curl your hair into soft waves, part to one side and let it cascade through from under your hat and you’re done!

Products Used: KORRES Wild Rose Facial Oil, KORRES Brightening Targeted Tone Corrector, REVERSA Radiance Cream with SPF 30, Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlighter, Joe Fresh Volumizing Mascara, Stila Cosmetics Perfect me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette, QUO from Shoppers Eyeliner, Estee Lauder Foundation in Beige, QUO 2016 Fall Collection Eye Palette, QUO Forever Flawless Cushion System Foundation, The Estee Edit Barely There Lipliner in Nude and NYX Liquid Satin in Tea & Cookies, mixed with STILA Cosmetics Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Amalfi.

One of my absolute favourite ways to get rid of a bad hair day is to throw a hat on it. Coming into the colder months, not only is it turning into sweater season, but it is also a Canadian favourite… toque season! There are so many cute options out there. Here I put in some clip in extensions for extra length (with the beanie covering the top I didn’t have to worry about any clips showing, etc), and I just curled the ends quickly with a 1-inch barrel. No fuss about limp or oily hair, or locks that get destroyed from wind/rain/snow or anything else that the day may bring!

Products used: Forever21 ribbed fold over beanie, Design Lengths clip in hair extensions, Hot Tools 1” curling iron, AG Hair Spray Gel, Rusk W8less Hairspray.
