ICYMI: Pyjama dressing is still having a big moment outside the bedroom. From the runway to the street, 90s-inspired slip dresses and classic menswear robes have been playing on repeat for several seasons. But fried food hasn’t been on the loungewear/daywear menu—until now.
This past weekend, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend said cluck you to trad pj looks with their matching fried chicken-themed onesies. The 31-year-old model/cookbook author wore a KFC-inspired version (long live Colonel Sanders!), while her 37-year-old singer hubby was decked out in a deep-fried one-piece. “Deep fried Pajama Jammy Jam,” he captioned the photo posted on his Instagram account. The duo were dressed for a pyjama-themed party in celebration of Cash Warren’s (Jessica Alba’s husband) 38th birthday.
The guest list included lots of stars, like Kourtney Kardashian who also adhered to the evening’s dressed down dress code. Her sexy bedtime look included a lace bustier and a black silk menswear pj top and bottoms.
Maybe celebs have hit on something with these sartorially-minded sleepy time looks: We all need to wake up our wardrobes from time to time. While you may not throw a pj-themed party like Jessica Alba (bonus points if you do), consider trying this sleepwear-meets-daywear trend on for size. Our style panel has lots of stellar ideas to take your look from the bedroom to the street. Check out how to wear the pyjama pant here. Hitting the snooze button, it’s a good thing.
