This Brand Is 100% About to Blow Up

With five years at Who What Wear under my belt, I’ve come across my fair share of brands. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I like to think I’ve become pretty good at sensing which are on the rise, destined for stardom, have staying power, or (sadly) likely to fizzle out of the spotlight. So, now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you about my latest brand obsession: Ca & Lou.

After spotting the sparkly, eye-catching, and extremely cool Mia letter necklace at Kirna Zabete a couple weeks ago and asking the salesperson what brand it was, I took it upon myself to do a bit more digging. Needless to say, I was more than pleased with what I found: an established brand that specializes in statement jewelry and accessories and, while not new, looks to me like is on the verge of really blowing up any day now.

What makes me think so? Well, let’s start with the aforementioned Mia necklace. It’s been worn by Chiara Ferragni and Caroline Issa and instantly caught my eye. There’s also the inherent stamp of approval that comes along with simply making it into Kirna Zebete—a highly respected boutique that boasts an impressive roster of brands both old and new, including Dior, Altuzarra, Calvin Klein, Monse, Attico, Sandy Liang, and more. Then, we have the recent spotting of Olivia Palermo at last month’s amfAR Gala, proudly carrying the brand’s Prince of Wales Party Bag. I’ll keep my lengthy commentary on the significance of her endorsement in the fashion world to myself because we have other things to get to.

Aside from their many fans, what has me thinking Ca & Lou is about to make it big is the sheer timeliness of the brand’s crystal-embellished pieces which couldn’t be more on-trend for fall and winter if they tried. With all things over-the-top, embellished, and Italian-inspired having a moment right now, everything they are making is what fashion girls happen to want to wear in the months ahead, and it leads me to think that this is where they will turn. So, now that you heard it here first, to see more of my favorite items from the brand and, of course, shop them, simply continue on below.

Up next: the dress trend I think is going to dominate this fall.
