Remember about a year and a half ago when all anyone could talk about was fishnet tights? According to Preen by Thornton Bregazzi's F/W 18 collection debut at London Fashion Week, those days are anything but over. The design duo was clearly inspired by all things aquatic (proven by the list of books on the show notes); every look sent down the runway featured something relating to the sea (e.g., scuba gear influences, sequinned mermaid-inspired dresses, and fisherman's netting). Reworked fishnet tights peeked out from under floral-print dresses, there were multiple fishnet-adorned necklines, and the fabric was reimagined in the form of handbags. This directional collection proves that the trend isn't dead yet, but it also doesn't look like it did in 2016.
