You might say that we have a bit of an obsession when it comes to model-off-duty style. But what about on-duty? We happen to think that what models choose to wear when they’re going to a major casting call is equally an interesting choice—it’s often laid-back but still strikes a high-fashion balance. And for Hilary Rhoda, that also meant going to one specific designer for her most key piece: Marc Jacobs.
The industry vet who’s walked the runways of Fashion Week (including Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren, for starters), as well as in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, told us what it was like at the start of her career, including the first big designer pieces she ever purchased. “My agent told me I needed to buy ‘model clothes,’” she said of when she first moved to New York. “Everyone went to Marc Jacobs for their ‘model wardrobe.’” Watch on below for more of her monumental firsts in fashion.
