Fashion’s biggest night is upon us, and the Met Gala red carpet arrivals are pouring in, but there’s one, in particular, we’ve all been waiting for. If you’re anything like us, you’ve been refreshing your browser like crazy waiting for @badgalriri to arrive. Well, Rihanna has entered the building, an in typical fashion, she shut down the red carpet, showing up in a gorgeous glitter John Galliano ensemble and matching headpiece, along with a stunning Cartier Collection necklace.
The internet, being the internet, quickly dubbed RiRi’s look as the “glitter pope” of the Met Gala. The theme for this year’s event is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” so she nailed it, to say the least. She pretty much left us speechless thanks to her spectacular shiny minidress and oversize cape. As for her statement jewelry, she wore a beautiful Cartier Collection pendant as a necklace. Originally created in 1934 and modified in 1949, the necklace boasts diamonds, sapphires, round faceted rubies, button pearls, opal, round faceted topazes, and more. See Rihanna’s epic arrival below and our favorite reaction from Twitter at the end.
